Leadership Fairfield County is a professional development program that broadens the skills and perspectives of organizational leaders—and provides the region with individuals who are prepared to serve as catalysts for positive change.

Overview

Each year, mid to senior level professionals are selected by their organizations to participate in this educational program. Each class is limited to 30 participants to drive camaraderie and engagement. Participants receive exposure to the critical issues facing Fairfield County through on-site visits, moderated interaction with working professionals, lectures, discussion groups, and other leadership development activities. Participants are encouraged to actively engage presenters in dialogue and take advantage of their expertise by asking thoughtful and thought provoking questions.

Criminal Justice -- Who goes to prison in Connecticut and why? Where does incarceration fit in a “Second Chance” society?

Social Equity & Education -- What are the issues of social equity facing Fairfield County? The development of human capital is a life-span investment by society. How is Fairfield County addressing the continuum of human capital development?
May 17, 2024
Regional Economic Priorities -- We will begin with a regional strategic economic briefing (alumni invited). Then we will explore “who’s here”: What sectors, industries and employers comprise the economic base of the region? What are the implications?

Infrastructure & Transportation, sustainability and resilience will be addressed in the context of how Fairfield County is revitalizing its urban core.

New Perspectives, New Relationships, & New Insights Await

Program participants not only deepen their knowledge of Fairfield County and Connecticut — they have a seat at the table as the issues facing the state and the region are discussed, debated and challenged. LFC’s interactive approach will strengthen the participant’s ability to engage and make change in the communities they live and work. Additionally, the LFC experience provides access to key subject leaders and offers an intense focus on the participant’s personal network development. Employers will see increased leadership and problem solving skills in their employees. Leadership Fairfield County helps identify key areas of corporate community involvement and strengthens the connection to issues critical to the region’s quality of life.

Tuition for LFC is $3,850 per person for corporate and professional services firms and $1,925 for participants from the non-profit and government sectors. To nominate a candidate for Leadership Fairfield County, please complete and return the nomination form.
