Michael Jean, Senior Manager for State and Local Government Affairs at NBCUniversal, Joins the Stamford Partnership Board

STAMFORD – We are excited to welcome Michael Jean as the newest member of the Stamford Partnership Board of Directors.

Michael Jean is Senior Manager for State and Local Government Affairs at NBCUniversal, where he is responsible for designing and implementing the company’s engagement strategy aimed at deepening strategic relationships with political leaders and senior officials at all levels of government. His primary policy portfolio includes economic development and production tax credits, production regulations, and workforce development initiatives to create jobs that are inclusive and diverse across jurisdictions. His policy and advocacy efforts support NBCUniversal’s creative brands, namely Universal Pictures, Universal Television, Peacock, Telemundo, and Stamford’s own – NBC Sports.

Before joining NBCUniversal, Michael served as Special Assistant to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.  In that capacity, he was the Majority Leader’s principal advisor in managing relationships with both business and political leaders across the country. He also was heavily engaged on a host of policy issues including the passage of the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. He also worked on several political campaigns, including for now U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and President Joe Biden. In those roles, he planned and executed high-profile (and often newsworthy) public events across the United States.

When not traveling to NBCUniversal production locations, typically dealing with 11th-hour production crises, Michael, a long-suffering New York sports fan, can be found commiserating about his New York Jets and Mets to anyone who will listen.

He holds a Bachelor’s in political science from Binghamton University and a Master’s in teaching from Teachers College at Columbia University.
