SWCT Tech Partnership
Advancing the Region's Tech Industry
The SWCT Tech Partnership is an organizational and executive network representing the region's Tech-Enabled, Data-Dependent Companies. We're focused on bolstering and encouraging the region's tech, data, media, and finance talent.
Participating Companies:
Why Regional Sector Partners?
Each day, we are all faced with issues related to consumer demands, infrastructure needs, technologies, COVID conditions, the need to stay innovative, and the ability to recruit and retain the right talent. No single company, no matter how big, can do this work well alone. There’s something special about being in Southwest Connecticut. This is a stronghold for data-dependent, tech-enabled companies.
Steering/ Alignment
With alignment and functional structure of the partnership, we would include areas of policy opportunities and implications, tech adoptions and innovation, and networking on industry trends and development.
Diverse & Inclusive Talent Development
Using consistent partnerships with educational institutions, we plan to create diverse and equitable career paths while identifying industry-wide skills.
Regional Marketing & Branding
We look forward to making SWCT a vibrant hub and stronghold for tech-enabled clusters while building the community through promoting the awareness of opportunities and attraction of talent. With our geographic location, accessibility, transportation, and infrastructure (proximity to NYC).
FAQ
We are looking for a senior executive or technology leader at each company to participate. For small and mid sized firms, this would be the CEO. For larger corporations, this can be COO, CTO, or SVP.

Based on our foundational discussions and identified needs and gaps, this partnership has three action teams:
- Steering group
- Clarify scope, Implications, policy needs, and structure of the RSP.
- Support the creation of metrics and outcomes related to the Partnership’s shared priorities
- Manage expectations and goals
- Facilitating business-to-business networking and shared learning
- Diverse & Inclusive Talent Development
- A shared understanding of demand (which shared occupations, skills needed, certificates we as industry accept) and supply (who offers which certificates, etc);
- Better, more at-scale ways to source diverse talent that’s already here, and ways to remove barriers to potential diverse talent that is missed;
- Consistent communication with the combined ear of education institutions in our region about skills needs
- Industry and education partner buy-in to a regional talent flywheel (and a shared vision of what our talent flywheel is)
- Create a network and forum for sharing best practices
- Regional Marketing & Branding
- Transportation and Infrastructure: accessibility, affordability and mobility of employees working & living in this region
- Cultivate and support a virtual (or hybrid) workforce
- Shared marketing of our companies/industry
- A unified marketing approach to the workforce already here in our communities, and students in our schools and education institutions.
If you build it, they will come. This is a governing philosophy of the Stamford Partnership. And has been a winning approach in such programs as Stamford Innovation Week and many more. Regional executive and company networks are reason enough to create the RSP. If that was not enough, Next Gen Sector Partners is the consultant on the program, and they have successfully created a national network of RSPs. Next Gen co-founder Lindsey Woolsey helps our SW CT Tech-focused RSP. And they program is run by Rebecca Ouellette at the Stamford Partnership and is support by the entire organization. The RSP in joined by globally recognized companies such as Deloitte, Digital Currency Group, FactSet, McKinsey, Indeed.com, and many others.
