Announcing the Launch of the Stamford Partnership’s Northeast Cyber Council!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Northeast Cyber Council, a groundbreaking initiative spearheaded by the Stamford Partnership to strengthen cybersecurity across Fairfield County and beyond. This new roundtable aims to unite public and private sector leaders to address the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape and enhance cyber preparedness within our community.

The Northeast Cyber Council is driven by a clear mission: to foster cybersecurity awareness and resilience amidst a dynamic threat environment. Our approach is comprehensive, targeting key sectors to ensure robust cybersecurity practices and preparedness at all levels.

Key Objectives of the Northeast Cyber Council:

  1. Government Engagement: Liaising with key government decision makers, our goal is to support and educate commercial enterprises, educational institutions, and not-for-profit organizations, helping them to bolster their cybersecurity measures and protect their digital assets.

  2. Support for Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs): Recognizing the unique challenges faced by SMBs, the Council aims to provide tailored assistance to enhance their day-to-day cybersecurity practices. We will focus on helping these businesses prevent cyber incidents and recover effectively should an attack occur.

  3. Collaboration with Large Enterprises: Large businesses often possess advanced technical resources and personnel. The Council will facilitate information sharing between large enterprises and SMBs to disseminate best practices and improve overall cyber readiness throughout the community.

  4. Partnership with Academia: The Council seeks to engage closely with local academic institutions to support the development of cybersecurity curricula and ensure that graduates are equipped with the skills required by the industry. This collaboration aims to align academic training with real-world cybersecurity needs.

  5. Employment Opportunities: To address the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals, the Council will work with government employment agencies, academic institutions, and businesses to establish a job posting and matchmaking system. This initiative will connect job seekers with potential employers and support career development in the cybersecurity field.

The Northeast Cyber Council represents a significant step forward in our collective effort to create a more secure digital environment. By bringing together diverse stakeholders and fostering collaboration, we aim to elevate cybersecurity practices and build a resilient community prepared to face future challenges.

We look forward to sharing more updates about this exciting initiative and invite all interested parties to join us in advancing cybersecurity in our region. For more information or to get involved, please contact us at kevin@stamfordpartnership.org.
