Demystifying Generative AI: Between Hype and Reality

Join us Tuesday, Oct. 24, as two distinguished experts in artificial intelligence at McKinsey & Company discuss AI’s promise and perils–and how McKinsey is using AI to revolutionize its own practice. The panel will be moderated by Stamford Partnership Vice Chair Rowena Track, a specialist in AI, cyber security, and digital innovation. Light bites and refreshments will be served.

Rowena is a seasoned Fortune 100 executive with 30+ years of experience in global business, digital, and innovation strategies. She’s a specialist in Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Innovation, and Technology Transformation, with a career spanning CitiBank, TIAA, Bayer Healthcare, and Cigna Corporation. Currently, she holds leadership roles as Vice Chair on the Board of Directors at the Stamford Partnership, a member of the University of New Haven’s Board of Governors with a focus on the Audit Committee, and as a Commissioner on the Judicial Selection Commission, appointed by Governor Ned Lamont of CT. Prior to this, Rowena served as the CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.

Erik Roth, Senior Partner, McKinsey & Co

Erik is a prominent leader in McKinsey’s Strategy Practice, specializing in global innovation. His expertise spans innovation strategy, marketing, and R&D management, with a strong track record in diverse industries across Asia and North America. Coauthor of “Seeing What’s Next” in 2004, he provides essential innovation tools. Erik’s pre-McKinsey career includes contributions to OnStar’s creation and a role as Chief Innovation Officer at LG, where he shaped digital experiences and Smart TV interfaces.

Ben Ellencweig, Senior Partner, McKinsey & Co

Ben Ellencweig, a senior partner in McKinsey’s Stamford office, leads the global QuantumBlack AI Practice. He specializes in AI alliances, acquisitions, and partnerships, helping clients achieve growth and profitability. Ben managed McKinsey’s acquisition of Iguazio, a machine learning operations platform, and oversees the firm’s expanding AI network. A thought leader in AI and digital transformation, he frequently speaks at global conferences. Before McKinsey, Ben held leadership and technology roles in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and served in Washington, DC. He’s also a general trustee on the board of the Central Park Conservancy in New York.
